Training:

Learning is a continuous process which is very essential in the development of an institution. SSVP of STAP in this light organised a Training Session for its new members and a refresher training for its existing members. The facilitator for the training session was Rev. Fr. Andrew Campbell, the National Spiritual Director for the Society. He basically charged new and existing members to be discerning in the charitable work and know that the work of a Vincentian is close to the heart of God

In the early part of 1985, a few of us (parishioners) from the Church visited our Priest at the time, the Rev. Fr. Ivan Yangyouru, a Lecturer then of the Sociology Department (now of blessed memory). We were surprised to see several very happy students at what seemed like a party. Jokingly, we asked why we were not invited to the party! Fr. Ivan, in his usual very calm voice said that it was a very normal Sunday afternoon at his house with “small refreshments”.
